The census figures have been released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and thus confirming the continued population growth of South East Queensland. The stats show that there’s still a continued exodus of Australians moving from south of the border up to sunny Queensland and not just because of the excellent weather.
This border crossing migration trend has increased by 504% since its lowest back in March 2014. In addition to this continued internal migration, the latest figures also show a greater increase of overseas migration, with figures increasing by 189% since a low back in June 2016.
Australians have proved that we’re not the best breeders with natural increase showing a slight decline over the year. However the migration from interstate and overseas has kept our population numbers high regardless.
More people equals more demand and immense pressure on home prices – the southerners are moving here because we are incredibly affordable compared to New South Wales and Victoria.
Now is the time to act – don’t miss out because the last time we saw this migration movement house prices almost doubled in Brisbane.
